i read somewhere (cdrlabs) that the recording time for 24x recording for a full 700mb of data is 4:20secs and that includes leadin and leadout times. But when i purchased the burner and burned at 24x speed, i only got 5mins6secs tops recording speed every time with 700mb of data. I have dma enabled and used the included 24x speed-rated media that came with the system and also fuji 24x speed-rated medias. Does anyone know what could be the problem? very puzzled!?!

it probably is slowing down to the media is my guess...burn time is closer to 20x...or "burnproof" is kicking in..trying doing nothing except burning and see what happens..also are you burning an image from cd to cd or hdd to cd...

is the source and cdrw on same ide channel this maybe slowing the system down..try switching the cdrw to a differnet ide channel from hdd
