The drive works fine. When connected to a MSI K7N420 motherboard, the hard drive activity LED blinks in sync with the LED on the DVD drive itself flashing while it attempts to read a disc that is inserted. Most of the time after the LED on the DVD drive stops flashing, the hard drive activity LED remains on. Usually opening and closing the tray a few times makes the hard drive activity LED stay off. I've tried putting the jumper configurations on different configs (it's on a secondary channel with a Plextor CD-RW) and different cables and the same behavior results. I haven't tried it on another motherboard yet, but my friend has a Dell in which i believe has the exact same drive, but black and this behavior doesn't occur. This situation doesn't bother me as it works fine, but I would like to know why it's doing this and fix it if possible.

I ended up flashing a newer LiteOn firmware for this drive I found on Google. Too bad the manufacturer themselves don't have it on their site. This didn't work until I flashed the firmware for a JLMS drive, which is a rebadged Liteon.
