What all media are you guys using if you have a liteon 1633s? I was using some no name media and my burn times were horrible. So I upgraded the firmware after the upgrade it would no longer burner to the generic media. I decided to use the dvd that comes bundled with liteon and dvd burn speeds were excelent. So now I just need to get some good media that it will use.
 
i have my liteon 1633s upgraded to the 1653 firmware with no problems. now it burns considerably faster with the comparable amount of errors(minimal).

also, you might want to try the latest firmware 1633s BS41. it is a lot more compatible with media.
