LiteGlow Neon Wire at Target: $16.99

For all you case modder's out there, this is just one more option for lighting that tricked out case! It comes with 6' of neon wire in blue or purple. It has a 12 volt cigarette lighter plug, but that should be easily replaced. They also had a 15' kit for $34.99.

Remove cig lighter plug insert favorite molex connector 😀
I don't know if it's that easy i'd have to see it. Sure it's not brain surgery though.

Get yourself a Molex pass thru connector, splice into the 12V line (the yellow) and hook that up to the positive terminal wire of the neon wire... do the same with the black to the ground. You're done, add some ever so useful electrical tape to finish it off.

is this a hot price for automotive use?
(realizing young idiots will pay anthing to "rice" their cars)
grin AND DUCK...
😀:Q

i purchased this yesterday, i just happened to be at target and happened to see it. Not sure if it was a hot deal. It was easy to mod, and the inverter is small and has a hard plastic shell to cover it. They only have blue and purple at the target i went to. The lights are 6' long only. but its a good price for local i guess.

<< oh hey! I think I found something... It's not neon wire, but it's a cathode tube. So maybe it's not the same... anyway:

Nah, this is it. It's thinner and flexible. It's kinda cool, not that I'd put it on my car or computer, though... :disgust:

Here's a pic from the Sunday ad. I bought one Sunday evening just to see what it looked like lit up. Very nice indeed, plenty of light given off and a long cord. As stated eariler, the cigarette lighter plug can be easily cut off and then power the unit with 12v from your power supply. WARNING: The transformer produces a high pitch whine, people looking for quiet case solutions should pass on this item. I'm headed back to Target this evening to buy four more. I've already got five window kits on the way for modding all my cases. The wire is very flexible and thin, it'll be great for stringing around the motherboard, or perhaps underneath it for that backlit glow. The 16.99 price is good until this Saturday 3/2.

it looks pretty cool, but it'd be damn annoying in my car...who'd want that annoying glow in the night anyway?
