does smart burn mean burn proof? if similar, what's better? cause the 16x is not THAT much more expensive than the 12x. and im deciding what to get

Lite On doesn't mean anything, they make computer peripherals.

i know, im asking about the lite 16x and the 12x. on the 12x it says burn proof. but on the 16x it says smart burn. what is the difference? which one is beter?

Their pretty much the same thing. There's about a million variations of burn-proof. And Lite-on makes great cdrw drives.

Burn-proof is just someones proprietary name for essentially the same technology. I would get 16x. Actually, I did and it arrived today! WOO HOO. Ive already burned 11 cds.
