Using Nero DVD/CD checkspeed program ... the Lite-on SOHD-16P9S errors out with CRD error when reading a DVD+R / DVD+RW disc. The same disc reads perfectly fine with the BenQ 1640 thats on the same machine. Both drives are on their own seperate cables ... and set as MASTER.
The Liteon has the latest 09 firmware ... I tried the hacked firmware that is supposed to make it faster ... but it too gives CRC errors.
The odd thing is that as the speed increases (when running Nero checkspeed program) I can hear the drive spin down and back up every few seconds ... so the graph shows it going from (say) 10X to 1X and then back up to 10X ... and eventually it fails the test and pops up a CRC error dialog box.
