Lite-On Flash Question: 40125s to 48125s or 48125w?

LTR-48125W. Check the firmware version, it should start w/ ZSxx, (mediatek "5"-chipset). If it starts w/ XSUx (mediatek "3" chipset) it's not upgradeable.

The 40x drive isn't rated for 48x... some people who have done the "upgrade" report a higher error rate. Then again, it may work like a charm.

With a little effort, you can go back, if it doesn't work well.
