LIte-on's in the past have been rebadged pioneers but in this case pioneer has focused more on the -r/-rw format and this is +r/+rw format....Liteon usually is rebadging somebodies stuff and just selling it for cheaper. That price is pretty damn cheap though. I hadn't seen one for 97 dollars....

I don't see any mention of any burn proof technology!!! I will go to manuf. webpage...

I say it looks solid and you may want to jump before it is out of stock..97 is a killer deal. The only thing I didn't like was the higher cpu usage but I have a much better ssystem then the test one so I don't think the % would be necessarilty the same for me. I wonder if all 4x burnning even on higher end systems still take 100% or near 100% to burn....I wonder how P4 HT works on this 100% cpu usage???

I personally can live with 1x/2x and doing a lot of other activites....
