Lite-On drives...are they any good?

Just wondering because they seem to be really inexpensive compared with the other companies. I'm looking to buy both a DVD drive and a CDR-W. Any comments about em?

My daughter had problems with a 16/10/40 (every few days the PIO/DMA setting would change, and drive wouldn't access CDs) until I upgraded the firmware. Now seems to be fine. Also, comes with Nero and InCD, which is a plus.

well there seems to be positive and negative experiences...any suggestions on similiarly priced drives but better performance/reliability?

I have the 16x CD-RW and it works great. Not even any problems with MusicMatch.....
