Hi,

I just uncovered that my CD writer / DVD reader is damaging my discs so they do not work anymore...or at least where they are damage.

The results is clear : a full ring of scratching at around half the diameter of the media. It happens on both CD and DVD.

My questions are :

Is there is any kit that could help me repair my discs ?
Is there is any way to repair the drive ?
Have you heard of such a problem before ?

There are kits for repairing disks - they may or may not work. Most big box computer/office supply/electronics stores have one or more models. You'll have to open your drive up to find out what's scratching your disks or RMA if it's still in warranty.
. Only one scratch job like that would have to happen around here before the problem was dealt with... One definition of insanity: Doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result each time. (Sort of like voting for Reps and Dems. eh?)
