Circuit City is supposed to have (from another forum) the Lite-On 52X32X52 CD-RW for $19.99 after MIR starting 10/26. LIN LTR52327 currently $69.99.

Yup I got 2 of um, 1 for me and 1 for my Dad.

Also got 1 for $15.00 after rebates a couple months ago for my sister.

Best deal on The fastest speed CDRW out.

Thanks Allisolm. I'm down to one decent burner, time to get this as a backup.

Did anyone's drive only show a 16x max burn speed? I'm using Nero 6. I can't seem to figure out why the drive doesn't have faster burn speeds. The model of the drive seems to be 52XXXX something so I think it's a 52x drive:(

CC rebates are reliable.. most of them get processed and mailed within 3-4 weeks from purchase.. :p

I did a deal like this from CC about a month ago and already received one of the two rebates. It was for $25 but I am still waiting for the $30 rebate.

Only had two other rebates from CC and they all came within a reasonable time.

$20 is a great price, but the original price is $69.99... That's $50 in rebates to wait for...

I have never had a problem with CC rebates, they tend to pretty fast for me. I have done maybe 20 this year. They all came through at or before 8 weeks.

What he said.

Often times its the media that limits you especially when using a top-speed burner.

Instead of buying new CDrs, here's what you can do to write at faster speeds with old CDRs:
Recorder > Choose Recorder... > Options button > UNCHECK buffer underrun protection to enable burning at maximum speeds CDRW is capable of (if this option is limiting you to select only lower speeds).

I hate MIR deals. And I doubly hate deals with 2 MIR's. Most of the deals I've done with 2 MIR's usually never send 1 of the MIR's. What a pain in the arse.

Isn't this the same one that was $10 after 2 MIR's and the Afterburner MIR a month ago?

Your media is probably rated at only 16x. I have no problem burning 48x rated TY on it. Have yet to find any 52x rated media.

Edit: Got this from BB about three months ago. By the way, still waiting on the $30 manufacturer MIR.

Unless you are strapped for space, I would prefer not to deal with combo drives simply because I'm under the impression they break down from the intense usage. i.e. wear from usage on 2 separate drives < twice the wear from usage on a single combo drive.

I might go buy this one or get the same deal from Bestbuy

Combo drives are recipes for disaster. Have owned three of them and have seen three RMAd and eventually dumped onto the FS/T forum because they simply fail, one time after another.

I also picked one of these up a few months back. The CC rebate came promptly. The OEM rebate has not arrived and there is no response to e-mail or phone calls (I've made several).

I'm going to ask CC to make good the rebate. If so, then I'll get this one too. :)
