Lite On 48x Help!!!

I just got a lite on 48x burner, but when I go into nero it only listed the burner as an being able to bun at 8x, I restarted the computer and started nero again and now it says it can burn at 16x help me please! I've updated nero to the latest version as well as upgraded the lite on's firmware to the latest version.
 
There's nothign wrong with your burner. It's your media. The burner defaults its burning speed based on the speed that your cd-r's support. Evidentally, your CD-r supports 16x.
 
go to www.liteonit.com and dl the firmware for the 48x drive. I had the same problem with Nero with my 40x drive( it only read it as being 24x) Dl the firmware program and run it. It should fix the problem right away.
 
Thanks for the responses, I fixed it. I reflashed the firmware and uninstalled/reinstalled nero and now everything is working fine.
