wow... it finally broke under 100 after shipping.. damn good price...
but i was wondering.. is it worth getting this 32x lite on for 99 or instead getting the 24x cendyne for about 50 after rebate???
the lite on is only around 15 seconds faster and they both received a 9/10 total rating on cdrlabs.com.

I'm no expert, but I have read that the 32x speed increase is not really that big of a boost. The 40x, I've heard, is pretty awesome, burning a cd in under 2 minutes.

The 24x for $50 is probably better. You can upgrade later to a 40x when they run a special at OM, OD for, say, $60 AR & AC.

dajo, the 40x really sucks, the plextor 40x doesn't start writing on a cd at 40x until it's 58 minutes into the cd. that combined with the fact that 8x is only 25% faster than 32 means that the cd is usually burned less than 5 seconds faster... 32x speed difference is negligible compared to 24x(30 seconds faster maybe), but right now the price difference is so small that it might be worth it, a liteon 24x seems to go for around 87 shipped on newegg and this is only a few dollars more
