Yeah the lite-on 32x and 24x are some of the few burners that can do SD2 and they work wonderfully with CloneCD as far as I've read. Havent been able to get my hands on one yet
I just got my 32x burner this morning, and man does it fly compared to my crappy 8x sony *kicks sony* My old burner made so many coasters... finally got Burn Proof
My CDRW works fine with CloneCD. Also, buy with AMEX Blue people.... price will defitnely drop in next 2 months nexthardwareshop.com has the burner for $90 right now, but that doesnt meet the $10 minimum price match for AMEX...
NICKel, yes it works with CCD. As a matter of fact you pair it up with a Lite On 163 DVD and you have a setup that will burn anything (that includes the newest version of SD2, like what MOHAA is protected with), and do it fast.
I am sold. I cannot believe how cheap these burners have gotten over the last year. My new system is almost complete now, just need the mobo and proc and case. Thanks for the heads up!!
I have a liteon DVD rom that I bought from dell. it says DVD 16 and also says that it reads upto 48X. But I can seem to be able to read CDs from this DVD rom while the DVDs themselves work fine. Do u think its a problem with my DVD rom drive?
<< Hey guys.. A stupid question
But what's SD2?? maybe I'm missing somethin..

SD2 is a type of protection used on many current software CDs. It prevents you from copying the disc. There are ways around it, but not all drives are compatable with the software that will get around it. Maybe not all drives can copy a SD2 disc, software or not...I'm not sure.
Kulki, yes the Lite On 163 is a DVD player, thats the model Linky
GraveJoker, as Royaldank said it is copy protection. SD2 means safedisk2. A new version has come out that VERY few drives can make a working backup of that works on all drives. Some drives can make backups that work on the drive that burnt the backup. To make the working backup though you have to use a program that makes one to one copies of the disks, like CloneCD.
