Hi guys,

would the lite-on 24x10x40 perform just as well as a plextor. They both have burnbroof, and they both can do clonecd in raw dao 96. is there any reason i shouldn't purchase this drive and go for a plextor. it's about 70-80 bucks cheaper than a plextor?

<< well the plextor is faster but the plextor cant recognize 99min CDs. >>

from what I've read at cdrlabs the plextor is faster, by a whole 7 seconds, but costs almost $100 more. How much is 7 seconds worth to you ? Also, the Lite-on will do all copy protection including SD2. I just got my 24X10X40 lite-on yesterday and have copied both safedisk and safedisk2 disks with out a problem. If you do decide to get the Lite-on make sure you get the latest firmware.
