hello,

i wanted to test out the new burner so i made a music cd.

basically, i burned 72 minutes of musci(724mb) in 12 min 40 sec.

is this normal? for some reason, i feel like my old TDK 8/4/32 was faster

Yes, this is slow for a 16x. 12 minutes to burn the CD is the speed of a 8x.

Make sure you set the CD software to the correct speed and that you don't use the computer too much while burning. That would cause the buffer to go down to 0% a lot. You can tell when this happens when the LED on the burner changes to green instead of orange. Also, make sure your CD can handle at least up to 16x speed. Try other brands of CDs because some burners are picky and don't work well with certain kinds.

The drive seems to work very well for me. Btw, do you have the latest version of firmware for this drive? Can you email it to me?
