lite-on 12x10x32 cd writer with burn proof - $145

Found this lite-on drive on price watch and it has burn-proof technology. I think this is also a rebadge Plextor. No rebate hassel. $145 + $10 shipping. Do a search on Pricewatch and select brand search and lite-on. Anybody know more about this drive. Consider the price, this is a hot deal.

It took LiteOn three tries before they got BurnProof certification from Sanyo. You might think that it's a rebadged Plextor because Apex posted a deal a month or so ago and said that it was. If you ask me it doesn't make much sense to go to the trouble of getting BurnProof certification if you're just going to hire someone else to manufacture it for you.

I thought that LiteOn was one of the manufactuers that DIDN'T
just slap their stickers on someone else's drives...And cheap,
crappy drives they are, too. Favorites of people who produce
computers in wholesale quantities, but not of anyone who uses
them.
