First of all i should say that i'm using Easy CD version 4.03. I know this is not a popular burning software for anantech user's. I installed Nero 5.0 and it said it was not compatable with my burner. I also tried Click-n-Burn and it doesn't recognize my burner as a cd-rw only a cdr.
Now, here is the problem. I can't burn a copy os any cd. I get to about %38 and it lock's. I have no problem;s with data cd's but cd copier doesn't work for me. I am using W2K as my OS.
Who here is having success with this burner, and what software are you using?

Thank's

I have used Nero 5.5 with that burner and it worked great. You can download a free update to 5.5 from Ahead's website here. I was able to do on the fly coupying no problem at 12X. How do you have it hooked up in your system? You should have it opposite from where you are burning from. I have the main hard disk and the DVD-ROM drive on channel one and the Burner and Zip on channel two.

How does someone enable DMA mode on this drive?

I am also having a problem with this drive as well. Here is a summary of my problem:

I can create an image file from a cd. Then I go to create a cd from an image and I run into problems.

1. I choose the image.
2. Hit Next
3. I select write speed to be max
4. I select Write mode to RAW DAO
5. I do not check Simulate Writing
6. I do not check Burn Proof/Just Link
7. I do not check Perform Laser Calibration
8. I DO check Don't repair SubChannel Data
9. I DO check always close last session
10. I hit ok
11. Clone cd looks like it is flushing buffers
12. Clone cd ejects my cd and says the following: Writing to LITE-ON LTR-12101B failed!

I am on the latest firmware.

Enable DMA W2k- go to My computer/device manager/Primary IDE controller-right click and go to properties in advanced settings and in transfer mode set to dma. You may have to repeat the setting on the secondary after reboot---im not sure but it may set to dma also.

Install sp 2

Go to that particular device within device mangler. Should be under Properties/settings, middle of box, right side.
