Tommy:
Welcome to the Camp,
I guess you all know why we're here.
My name is Tommy
and I became aware this year

If you want to follow me,
you've got to play pinball.
And put in your earplugs
put on your eyeshades
you know where to put the caulk

Hey you getting drunk, so sorry!
I've got you sussed.
Hey you smoking Mother Nature!
This is a bust!
Hey hung up old Mr. Normal,
Don't try to gain my trust!
'Cause you ain't gonna follow me any of those ways
Although you think you must

Guests:
We're not gonna take it
We're not gonna take it
We're not gonna take it
We're not gonna take it

We're not gonna take it
Never did and never will
We're not gonna take it
Gonna break it, gonna shake it,
let's forget it better still

Tommy:
Now you can't hear me,
your ears are truly sealed.
You can't speak either,
your mouth is filled.
You can't see nothing,
and pinball completes the scene.
Here comes Uncle Ernie to guide you to
Your very own machine.

Guests:
We're not gonna take it
We're not gonna take it
We're not gonna take it
We're not gonna take it

We're not gonna take it
Never did and never will
Don't want no religion
And as far as we can tell
We ain't gonna take you
Never did and never will
We're not gonna take you
We forsake you
Gonna rape you
Let's forget you better still.

Tommy:
See me.
Feel me.
Touch me.
Heal me.

Listening to you,
I get the music.
Gazing at you,
I get the heat.
Following you,
I climb the mountains.
I get excitement at your feet.

Right behind you,
I see the millions.
On you,
I see the glory.
From you,
I get opinions.
From you,
I get the story.

Man, I came this close to grabbing that DVD today. My wife talked me out of it because "it's too dreary", she said. Bah, I'll get it some day. Ann Margret got a Best actress nomination for that one. It's recorded in "Original Quintaphonic Mix 5.0 Digital Dolby Sound" from 1975. Yep, I'll own it...

Ornery,

In terms of music, I prefer the original 1969 Tommy. However, the image of Ann Margret as the ultimate Easter sex kitten rolling around in the vat of gushing chocolate has undeniable value. :)

dennilfloss, thanks, just bunches...

Now I can't get the song out of my head ;)

Could be worse, I suppose - you could have mentioned "I Love You, You Love Me..."

Lady Niniane
(BTW, I agree that the original 1969 album cut was the best musically.)

I have no idea what you're talking about Denis. I guess I'm too young to understand what you mean. Oh well...

That deaf, dumb and blind kid and I have something in common - we sure play a mean pinball!

Man, what a great production that was. I just love those shoes Mr. John had on. Another vote for the ACID QUEEN!!!

flossy, First you start with the barber and now the deaf dumb blind kid. I was just on his web page reading stuff to see if there was something to quote for the 'true love' thread. That song is about HIM.

In those days, a double album was a significant outlay of cash.

God, that one was worth it. My ex is the proud owner of that now (along with about 500 others).

Ummmmm, I gotta go.... I wanna see for miles and miles and miles.......
