'Listen to this device' in control panel>sound won't 'listen' anymore

I have a stupid problem that I can't figure out.

This audio device is set to listen on my headphones, but I never hear anything. If I go into the application that is outputting the audio and change its device to my headphones, I hear the audio fine.

I haven't changed anything that I'm aware of and this suddenly occurred. Am I missing something?

I also tried changing the listen to device to my regular speakers, no audio there either. My g330 headset uses a usb dongle for sound, so it's a totally different device.
