You do know that stations vary by town right? For instance, there is no AM 640 where I live.

Statically speaking more people are bit by other breeds of dogs than pitbulls. But when someone gets bit/attacked by a pitbull the injuries are usually more severe though.

I don't think they're bad dogs. Just bad owners.

they are bad dogs. they have been breed for a couple hundered years to bring out the meaness. pit bulls are a ticking timebomb and you never know when its going to explode.

2 weeks ago to people in aurora colorado were attacked and nearly killed by the family pit bull. the cops showed up and shot it through the screen door, it then jumped through the screen door and went after the cops and they plugged it a few more times until it was dead in the front lawn. AFTER the daughter inside had stabbed the dog several times with a kitchen knife to get it off her mother. 65 year old woman was inside bleeding to death because her arm was nearly chewed off and her 40 year old daughter was also in some very bad shape from severe bites to the hands and legs.

i dont care what people say pit bulls are dangerous and i had a rottweiler for 11 years so i am familar with powerful dogs.

..not true. Dog bite litigation is a big part of many law firms now a days. The game is to get the judgement and then enforce it when money comes your way. Not everybody stays poor for ever.

I can pull examples of almost any dog breed attacking children. It happens. It could be bad owners, or it could be a bad dog. Whenver people advocate banning one breed, they get on really shaky ground. One breed is usually where it starts, and then every time there's a dog that severely injures or kills someone, people want to ban the entire breed. This exact thing happened in Calgary. Pit bulls were banned for several killings. Then a Mastiff (which is a very gentle dog by nature) killed a teenage girl. The parents lobbied for a banning of the Mastiff breed, and they succeeded. Italy is another prime example. They started with a few "dangerous" breeds. Now they have restrictions on 92 dog breeds, recently adding the infamously dangerous Welsh Corgi: http://www.buzzle.com/editorials/9-25-2003-45847.asp

The problem is that a lot of Pitbull owners want aggressive dogs and so many breeders put effort into breeding aggressive dogs that will be easier to sell.

Pit's that are bred to be docile for several generations by reputable breeders & then trained well by responsible owners are no more dangerous then other large & potentially aggressive dogs towards people, the problem is that the aggressive Pit's are out there now & owned by irresponsible a-holes in most cases.

The breed of dog isn't directly responsible for its behavior no matter how popular that idea becomes (although some dogs DO have more aggressive tendencys) ... for example if I hadn't trained my German Shepard well he would be very dangerous & quite capable of doing serious damage to even a large adult human.

..no matter how many ways you try to rationalize it.. in the end you come back to the fact that in todays litigious society pitbulls are a huge litigation hazard. Local animal shelters are chock full of em from owners increasing awareness of the risk to their future.

i have two punchure scars on my left cheek about 1 inch below my eye where our family poodle bit me. it was my fault though. i was either 5 or 6 years old it was a sat morning and i was the only one up. the poodle was snoozing by the sliding glass door and i was bored bad mix right there. you know what they say about let sleeping dogs lie? well i had a cap gun where the hammer would cock back and there was the dog laying there with his big nut sack hanging out. I got on my belly and sneaked my way up to him cocked the gun and put his nuts between the hammer and the gun an pulled the trigger.

there was a very loud shreek from the dog and the next thing i knew he had his teeth sunk into my face. I start screaming and mom and dad come running out of their bedroom see me bleeding and the dog licking his nuts. well all my dad saw was our dog bit me and proceeded to beat the shit out of the dog while mom took me to the bathroom to get the bleeding to stop.

yes i feel guilty for doing that and ill tell you what i never did it again thats for sure.
