The title says it all! List your favorite games that you played that never had a sequel, or had one that was never released in the U.S.

Pick any console / generation

PS One
Thrill Kill - this game was "unofficially" released but never made it. It was too gory at the time. It's basically a 4 way anything goes fighter with gruesome fatalities. I played a bootleg version and thought it was very entertaining.

Sega Saturn
Dragon Force 2 - the original was one of my favorite games of all time. Very unique gameplay and tons of replay value. Too bad the sequel never made it to the U.S.

Shenmue 2: I never understood why this was never released here. I remember the first one sold really well here and received great reviews. Hands down the best game on the SS.

Shining Force 3 parts 2 and 3 - I recall part 1 being released here but never sold well. A great game but it came out when the Saturn was already on it's death bed.

Radiant silvergun and Panzer Dragoon Saga- you can still find them on ebay selling for well over $100. Both were great games that I don't doubt would have sold really well had they been released on a Sony console.

Thats all I can think of at the moment

I heard a while back that MS was working with Sega on re-releasing some of the older Sega titles. Games like RS, Shenmue, House of the Dead would make great XBL titles.

Nice,

I was a big fan of Dragon Force and the Shining Force games. I actually owned Panzer Dragoon Saga and SF3-1.

Anyhow, there was a Genesis game back then called Warsong. I guess it's called Langrisser in Japan, and it received many sequels over there. I remember picking it up for 10 bucks in the bargain bin at EB back in the day, and the game was amazing. It's a tactical turn based strategy game with a cool story and many great gameplay mechanics. If you liked Dragon Force's battle cutscenes, you'll love Warsong's as well.

btw, I'm picking up Radiant Silvergun tonight afterwork on XBLA. Never played it, but I'm really excited. Ikaruga was amazing, and I hear that this is very similar.

If you like Ikaruga's color tactic and enjoy platformers, you may like the game Outland. It's pretty rare that I play console games these days, but I played the demo on the PS3 and rather enjoyed it. In the beginning, you don't do any switching, but eventually you have to switch between red and blue to be able to absorb attacks or stand on platforms (must be red to stand on red platforms, etc.). I've been tempted to pick it up for awhile now.

Yes, I've played the demo and I'm definitely planning on picking the game up. I'm a big fan of old school platformers with good control and gameplay mechanics.

Anyhow, I did pick up Radiant and the game is awesome. I love that sword and all the weapons. It's definitely harder than Ikaruga b/c you can't absorb the enemy attacks, it's dodge or die. Still it's fun as hell to be able to strategically use the multitude of weapons to attack, dodge, and escape. The replay value in these games are endless.

Oh God yes. And please, nothing even resembling Killer Instinct 2.

Seaman 2. The first one was whack. I heard the 2nd one was even whacker.

I loved Thrill Kill, I played that a ton. I actually had 2 versions of it, a beta, and a finished version. While the finished version was shinier, the beta was much more fun to play.

There was another game that came out overseas that never made it here called D2. I believe it was the sequel to an old PC game called D, which was a horror/mystery type game. What I read about the D2 was they took it a whole lot further and it was so obscene and graphic they wouldn't bring it to the states (I think I also heard it sucked).

yah KI2 was ass compared to KI1, but I still liked it. i actually have a ki2 cabinet, and ki1, mk1, and mk2 pcb's.

im hoping with the fighting genre coming back, maybe KI3 will be made. but i highly doubt it.

and honestly, ki1 has not aged well at all. i played it fairly recently on mame and it's just not that great of a game anymore.

I still enjoy KI1. I have the arcade stick you use for the SNES.

KI1 on SNES was garbage. it was a pretty shitty port in general.

i mean i loved it because it was all i had at home on a console and all i could play at home, but compared to the arcade version it's abysmal.
