List the Nvidia video cards in order of *overall* performance

I want to know where my Evga 8800gts/640 stands at the moment, and if it would be worth upgrading to maybe a 9800gtx in the near future.

List Nvidia video cards in order w/all MB versions of *overall* performance.
(*all w/stock specs and no OC versions*)

(Not sure if they're in the right order, so please make corrections all the way to #10)
1-- 9800 gx2
2-- 9800 gtx
3-- 8800/768mb Ultra
4-- 8800/768mb gtx
5-- ??8800gt/1024mbmb??
7-- ??8800gt/512mb??
8-- ?
9-- ?
10-- ?

Thanks 😉

4-- 8800/768mb gtx
5-- 8800gts 512mb
7-- 8800gt/512mb
8-- 9600gt
9-- 8800gs
10-- 8600gts

fixed:beer:

Yor 640 gts is somewhere inbetween the 9600gt and 8800gt.

1-- 9800 gx2
2-- 9800 gtx
3-- 8800Ultra
4-- 8800GTX
5-- 8800GTS 512
6-- 8800GT 512
7-- 9600GT 512
8-- 8800GTS 640/320 (the 640 might beat the 9600GT in some cases)
9-- 8800GS
10--8600GTS

Now if the OP wanted order of *overall* performance based on overclockability, I'm guessing the order would be slightly different here.

Although, I said Stock specs and no OC versions 😉

Worth upgrading your G80GTS? probably not until GT200 comes out.

Usually I update once a year, but I suppose I'll wait twice that long this time.

8800GTS 512MB would be a pretty big upgrade over your 8800GTS 640MB... in general, the G92 GTS is just around as fast as the G80 GTX, slower in high res + AA/AF, faster in games that depend on pure shader power.

Especially overclocked, the G92 GTS can hit a solid 750-800MHz core. At that point, it's much faster than your G80 GTS.

In terms of overall performance, I would say:

-9800GX2 1GB
-9800GTX 512MB
-8800 Ultra 768MB
-8800GTS 512MB/8800GTX 768MB (tie IMO)
-8800GT 512MB
-8800GTS 640MB
-9600GT 512MB (probably just about equal to G80 GTS)

By the way I did not include some uncommon versions like the 8800GT 1gb or the 9600GT 1gb as it has been shown on many review sites that the extra RAM offers no performance benefit at all.
