I really can't think of any movies that fit this bill, but I get this with CDs all the time. These spring directly to mind:

Queensryche - Rage For Order
Genesis - Selling England By The Pound
Pantera - Far Beyond Driven
They Might Be Giants - John Henry
Incubus - Enjoy Incubus

That's a decent cross-section of my music right there, come to think of it...
 
There are movies that I stopped watching after five or ten movies and then I watched later and liked:

Kids in the Hall: Brain Candy
Howls Moving Castle
The Matrix
Clerks
Dodge Ball, and most underdog sports movies
