So inspired by the other tilapia thread, I was curious what kind of fishes you guys eat/cook at home. Please list them in the order of frequency, also where you buy them. My order -
Wild Alaskan or sockeye (farmed) Salmon - Costco
Tilapia - Costco

That's pretty much all I eat.

I eat fish so rarely there's not much to list.

Once in a great while we'll have some Pacific salmon...bought from wherever...always wild-caught, never farmed.

I LOVE good fish & chips...and occasionally, when it's available, we'll buy some wild-caught rock fish and make that and/or fish tacos. (my personal favorite way to eat fish)

Tuna-probably skip jack.Is fishes correct in American English?

Yes...in some uses.

Many fish of one species...fish.
Many fish of different species...fish

Different fish species...fishes.

http://grammarist.com/usage/fish-fishes/

Fish vs. fishes
The plural of fish is usually fish, but fishes has a few uses. In biology, for instance, fishes is used to refer to multiple species of fish. For example, if you say you saw four fish when scuba diving, that means you saw four individual fish, but if you say you saw four fishes, we might infer that you saw an undetermined number of fish of four different species.

Fishes, with an apostrophe, also serves as the plural possessive of fish—for example, the fishes’ scales were yellow. And of course fishes is the present-progressive verb (e.g., she fishes in the river).

Fishes also appears in the cinematic gangster idiom sleep with the fishes, used to indicate that someone has been whacked (and perhaps given a water burial).

Canned tuna and salmon, which I buy at Costco.
Salmon fillet, which I get at the local grocery store. Sometimes Costco has wild sockeye.
Haddock fillets from Costco
Catfish fillet from the grocery store
Halibut from the fish & chips shop

I only get fresh fish once in a blue moon now. It's getting too expensive to eat on a regular basis.

At home, I usualy eat fish that I catch: spot, croaker, bluefish, striped bass, white perch, kingfish, rainbow trout, and various pan fish.

king salmon "fresh" from wegmens and porgy from the Asian mart are tied for second most. The Trident breaded tilapia from Costco is good for snacks. Sockeye frozen salmon from Costco is next frequently eaten.

At restaurants I usually order black cod, king salmon, swordfish chops, Chilean sea bass, halibut, flounder, skate.

At good sushi bars, I get whatever the sushi chef feels is his best. At mediocre sushi bars, yellowtail, unagi, tuna, salmon.

That I cook at home?

Tilapia - Costco
Mahi Mahi - Costco
Atlantic Salmon - Costco
"Wild" Salmon - Costco

I eat almost any fish served at a good sushi restaurant or seafood restaurant. Don't really shy away from any particular type.

Fresh lake Perch
Fresh Whitefish
Brook Trout

My neighbor catches them, his wife invites us over to eat every couple of months or so, more often in summer. That's enough for me, so I never order in restaurants or buy in a grocery store.
