Not yet. Was going to see Carlos at the film festival, but 5.5 hours in a festival format is too demanding. Waiting on the Blu-ray now because I refuse to see the cut version that was playing in theatres here.

There is still a theatre in NYC playing the full version, but having to get into the city and then watching a 5+ hour movie is though. Blu Ray is the smart option. Or amazon on demand if they get it

Full Metal Jacket - 7/10 - I had only seen bits and pieces before so I decided to rent it. Fairly interesting movie.

Gun - 3/10 I checked this out as I was curious to see how Val Kilmer fared, and he was actually one of the few positive things about the film. It was written by, and starring Curtis '50 cent' Jackson, and well, it could have been worse I think. It was fairly straightforward underworld vs. cops revenge/suspense fare, but it was often poorly executed.

The bad :

The director was just not up to the task, and didn't have the talent to save it.

50 Cent is not a great actor.

Annalynne McCord was terrrrrrrrrrible in this. Not sure if she sucks in general, or just here.

John Larrouquette, really? He must have lost a bet or something.

Danny Trejo, he was totally wasted here. Had like 2 minutes of screen time and his character didn't make any sense.

The script was full of major problems, mostly in terms of logic and motive by the characters, they were constantly doing things that made utterly zero sense.

The greatest strength and potential for the film was the use of Val Kilmer, whom they gave almost no lines or character development to.

Not recommended under any circumstances.

The Runaways - 6/10 - movie about the band, The Runaways. It was ok. seems to be cliche like all other band movies though.

Hachiko A Dog Story 0/10 - saw it on TV, relentlessly sappy and maudlin, yet so bad you feel compelled to watch it

True Grit: 5/10

It was alright, nothing memorable. Besides great acting and scenery I didn't find there was much there.

I did find it funny that Ned Pepper was played by Barry Pepper though :p - Coincidence? I think not.

Robin Hood (new one with Russel Crowe): 8/10

How did this not get more hype/coverage? Yeah it was bascially the bastard child of Gladiator and Braveheart in a PG-13 rating...but it was a fun, well paced, and absolutely beautiful film. Some of the backshots of the countryside were jaw dropping. Even decking in at almost 2.5 hours long it felt fast to watch. The plot was just interesting enough to keep you thinking and the main characters easily demanded attention when they were in frame. I thought it was a great movie.

I liked it. Nothing jaw dropping or memorable, but a pretty entertaining movie. Gladiator and Braveheart dragged more than this. And Cate Blanchett, can't go wrong.

If it's like those two movies then I'm definitely going to watch it as Braveheart and Gladiator are awesome movies. I totally had forgotten it had come out last year. Added it to the top of my Netflix queue.
