gotta hope that it changes while netflix moves further from dvds towards streaming.

If you will organize an effort to have poutine sent to my house, I will organize an effort to convince netflix to cease border discrimination on behalf of canada. Deal?

you might have better luck striking a deal with KT, considering I'm in the USA and have the sexy netflix streaming, and have never had poutine

That's painful to watch. :awe:

Edit: LOL at the ending.

Lol, yep, it's torture. I freaking love it. The extreme close-ups with the horror music kills me. :D

Can't wait for the Christmas episode! :awe:

lol I died when I saw that part(first time it happened at least, I didn't watch the end)

I just realized I still haven't re-watched the series finale of LOST. I think I'm subconciously too upset that it's gone to bring it back into my life...rofl. I really want to rewatch the whole series though. I don't have time for that right now though

Kikujiro - 2/10
Very slow moving plot. Too many scenes that didn't make any sense. Comedic scenes fell flat several times. Naked dude totally took over last 3rd of the movie. Why did I think this movie would be any good to check it out? Plot summary seemed decent enough. "A grumpy man with anger issues helps a boy find his long lost mother. Hilarity ensues." These are two hours that I will not be able to get back.

Monsters vs. Aliens - 8/10: Not sure what it was about this one, but I thought this was pretty awesome. I laughed a lot and it flew by; felt like the film was only 30 minutes long. Insectosaurus made me laugh every time he was on screen and the rest of the monsters, while they had pretty derivative personalities found in most of these animated films, were pretty fun too. Overall I just had a lot of fun with this which really surprised me as I was not expecting much at all.

Terminator Salvation - 7/10 - Started off really liking this movie, but went downhill. In general I usually have problems with time travel - its such a ridiculously useful power to have, yet things are always so difficult for the characters. Many WTF why would you do that moments for me. The one that really pissed the wife off was when
the girl freed the newly discovered android, basically saying the only way he could have existed was at skynets hands, there is no reason to free him, or even keep alive. Generally I am fine with suspending belief in sci-fi movies, but this one was pushing it. And why was the Arnold bot the only one trying to stop them at the end? They have like a million terminators under construction there, AND they knew the humans plans. I guess I dont understand how humans can even be competitive in a fight.
. But, the action was awesome, effects and sound sweet too. So it was worth watching just for that stuff for me.

I see a few people like documentary films.

I found This Film Is Not Yet Rated on netflix streaming but haven't got around to watching it yet. I was wondering if anyone had seen it and what you thought of it.
Saw it, probably wrote something about it somewhere in this thread but I didn't find it so maybe not. It was ok, a little boring and repetitive at times. Mostly any negativity I felt was due to how stupid the subject matter was, how stupid people can be, and how normal people like me get screwed by. same reason i dont go into P&N, watch news, or follow politics. just a reminder that there are stupid people out there with stupid ideas that actually get traction. and that pisses me off and make me bitter. so yeah, movie was fine, and it did get a rise out of me so it succeed in that capacity, i just tend to avoid that kind of subject matter so i can stay sane

When Harry Met Sally - 9/10
I liked it. I kinda felt like I connected with the 21 year old version of Harry in some ways. It felt like the movie was going to go a direction I really would have liked, but it went a different way and I liked it still anyway. Starts kinda slow but really picks up I think.

The Shining - ?/10
All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy... Redrum, anyone? Ok, so... this movie was ruined by the infinite amount of references that this movie has spawned throughout culture. That's why I give it a ?/10. I don't know how to rate it. I've seen it before it started.

The Headless Woman (La mujer sin cabeza) - 5.5/10: An Argentinean film about a woman in her 50s who hits something with her car and ends up in the hospital. When she returns home she becomes convinced she hit a person, while those around her believe it was a dog. She tries to go back and find out the truth while her husband is trying to cover all of her tracks. It was a pretty interesting idea, but it was pretty slow throughout to the point where it got kind of boring in parts. The lead actress was very good, but that was not enough to keep my interest for the entire film. It was not bad, but not great either.

One of my favourites and a film I watch every Halloween (and sometimes Christmas). So you did not enjoy any of it? The greatest thing about this film is the atmosphere Kubrick builds; I mean there is really only one death shown throughout the entire 2+ hours, but it's still creepy as all hell. So freaking good.

Scott Pilgram vs. the World: 8/10

Sweet coins!

What a fun and creative movie. Only reason I didn't rate it higher is because it's so geeky and full of game references that it will lose a lot of humor to non geeky/non gaming viewers.

So many enjoyable references to the old school gamers. Even the menu on the Blu Ray was set up like a video game.

My wife and I were rolling in laughter most of the movie.

The Expendables - 7/10 - not much story but lots of action. one major gripe i have is that the lighting always seemed too dark and it was difficult to see some of the action sometimes.

"Kick-Ass" 4/10

The first third of the movie was pretty good. The rest seemed like it was written by a different person. Characters start doing things that don't make sense, and it just turns really bad. It's basically what happened with "District 9."

Joy Ride - 5.5/10: Cheesy thriller about two guys (Paul Walker, who is painfully awful as usual, and Steve Zahn who I like) that are on a road trip through Colorado on the way to New Jersey and they run afoul of a trucker after they play a prank on him. I like Zahn, so I always have fun watching him (partly why I did not hate Perfect Getaway since it had both him and Milla) but Paul Walker is so freaking horrible it's distracting and that's not even getting into the silliness of the plot. I did have some fun with parts of it, again mainly from Zahn, but overall this was not great. It was ok for my extremely tired, 3-beered mind last night that was not ready for much else.

Keith, did you ever watch Running Scared? That was one movie where Paul Walker wasn't a total raging douchebag. It was a very gritty, edge of your seat modern day remake of Alice in Wonderland. I liked that movie quite a bit.

It did not sound familiar, but I just looked at the IMDB page for it and I recognized it. Now I remember it (
mainly because of the kid using the gun to kill his Dad, which took the film in a pretty interesting direction and I also remember thinking it odd that the kid's name was Oleg
) and yeah, you're right, he was ok in it; everything else I have seen him in though, he was absolutely terrible, except maybe for Pleasantville. :p
