Watched my first netflix streaming movie last night. Damn is it easy and quick

Holy Rollers: 7/10
Not completely sure how I felt about this one. I really wanted to like it. It had its strong points, but also some weak. It is about a 20 year old hasidic jew played by eisenberg who is recruited into a drug smuggling organization run by jews. Justin Bartha, doug from the hangover, is his neighbor who recruits him. His character is Yosef, and I had no idea it was him until I just looked it up. Damn, so this guy can actually act.

The movie's main goal seems to be taking a look at the life of hasidic jews, both criticizing and justifiying. I'm sure it isn't very accurate, but the movie is based on true events. The acting is very good, and the story is solid for the most part, but slips in a few parts, leaving me wanting more. Worth the watch

The King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters: 9.5/10
For what it was, you can't get much better, hence the rating. Man, what a ride this movie was. Up and down emotionally, it's a MUST watch IMO. Real big spoiler so beware
I was on such a high when this movie ended, so happy Steve came out on top of billy douche. And then I searched AT to check out discussions about it and saw that billy won the record back. Damn...ahh edit. according to wikipedia steve took the record again last month! woooo

Is this the one with Jesse Eisenberg? I've been intrigued by it, but it sort of fell of my radar. I'll have to check it out.

Yeah, this is just an awesome doc. It has everything you could want and you couldn't write a better villain than Billy. :D

Cool I just watched that recently as well. Steve Wiebe is one of my FB friends, just an overall very cool guy. I'm in an upcoming documentary on the same vein, along with Robin Mihara and a bunch of other classic gamers. Kelly Flewin from TG was sent to us and will be in the documentary as well. I think it will turn out really well, hopefully it has even 1/10th the success of KoK :)

It was a great movie experience, I enjoyed every minute. Though like many great documentaries,
the facts are twisted here and there, a few things were bigger than others. It is what it is

paranormal activity 2: 7.9/10

i enjoyed the first movie and this one didn't disappoint. it stayed true to the previous format (i wasn't sure if they were going to screw it up a la blair witch 2). 15 minutes in i had that same creepy foreboding suspenseful feeling and was reminded how well these types of movies work on people with good imaginations and the ability to allow the film to take you on a little trip. not everyone can do this, it's simply not in some people's repertoire, which is why these types of movies are love/hate. i jumped 3-4 times pretty good, and the creepy feeling stuck with me for a few hours afterwards, just like the first one. if you liked the first one, go see this one :)

oh also, epic boobs are epic.... any ATer that has seen this movie will know what i'm talking about ():)

damn you netflix, making me watch movies all the damn time

For All Mankind - 6/10
Documentary from 1989 about the space race, 100% made up of old footage with sound bites from the astronauts. Apparently never before seen footage etc, an inside look of various apollo missions etc. This just wasn't my thing. There is some cool footage, but compared to what we have today, it isn't anything special. Obviously the footage is special because they are the early missions of the space program, but I got bored with it. I was falling asleep about halfway through it last night and I had to finish it today. If you have an interest in this kind of thing you will probably love it, but I wasn't born when the events took place, so it doesn't have any sentimental value. I really did enjoy seeing was neil and buzz running around the moon like little kids. You can really see and feel how much fun they were having, pretty amazing

The Proposition - 7/10
When no-nonsense lawman Capt. Stanley (Ray Winstone) apprehends the notorious Charlie Burns (Guy Pearce) and his younger sibling, Mikey (Richard Wilson), Stanley makes Charlie an unsavory proposition: If he murders his outlaw brother, Arthur (Danny Huston), Mikey will escape the hangman's noose. Emily Watson co-stars as Stanley's genteel wife in Aussie director John Hillcoat's gripping, epic-scale Western set in the thick of the 1880s outback.

Not too much to say about this one. It was an ok movie, nothing great.

How to Train your Dragon - 8/10. Much better than I anticipated. Very funny and the main dragon is awesome.

The Social Network 8/10

Good movie. Obviously it's movie so you can't take everything seriously but it was very well done. The kid who played Zuckerberg was only ok. Don't understand why everyone was saying he did so well in it but it was a very well done and entertaining movie. All the drama behind everything is what sucks you in.

The Blind Side 6/10

How in the hell did this movie get nominated for an Academy Award? It was a fine movie, nothing wrong with it but it was in no way Academy Award worthy. I also don't think Sandra Bullock's performance was Oscar worthy either. She acted fine in it but not deserving of an award. The movie is a typical feel good movie and was entertaining to watch but these types of movies are a dime a dozen. No different than the hundreds of other movies of this type. It's not a bad movie at all but no way deserving any awards.

Black Dynamite - 8/10
I REALLY liked this movie, I thought it was hilarious. I know it's been reviewed before and I don't have much to add, but it is well worth a watch.
