Toy Story - 7/10
My first Pixar movie was Monsters Inc. Saw every single one since then except Cars, but I never had the chance to watch the original Pixar animated film. Because Pixar made monumental advancements in their cg techniques and storytelling with every incarnation, by the time I got around to watching the original, I was incredibly underwhelmed. The story was simple and the cg looked bland by comparison. But as this was the movie that jumpstarted the 3d animated movie craze followed by all the movie studios, I acknowledge the impact of this film. This movie still surpasses all the dreck being churned out by Dreamworks, at least.

Toy Story 2 - 9/10
Wow! The quality difference between 1 and 2 is incredible. There is an enormous jump in the graphics between this and the orignal. Storytelling wise, it was the typical mastery you expect from Pixar. The backstory to Jessie especially, brought a tear to my eye. /gives up mancard. But what I like especially is how the characters go through real human issues. You can still relate to StinkyPete and how he came to have his particular mentality. Superb movie.

Jessie's story always gets to me too. That fucking song + video clip montage. damn you Pixar.

Serenity - 2/10
I seriously don't understand all of the good reviews I'm seeing for this movie. I turned it off after 40 minutes, and I've only done that with a handfull of movies. After about 30 minutes in, I was checking to see if it was made by Disney. Maybe it's because I never watched Firefly?

Knowing - 4/10
Was a decent movie up until 30 minutes from the end.

Book of Eli - 7/10
I enjoyed it. Some good action, and Mila Kunis was pretty hot, I don't usually find her all that attractive. There were a few plot holes that kind of bothered me.
Like how a brail bible would have been way larger than the book he was carrying around.

Apollo 13 - 4.5/10: Meh, wow, pretty damn boring, overly-sentimental crap for the most part. I did enjoy some of the shuttle pieces, but I have seen much more interesting footage from various shuttle documentaries. Not much else to say; I liked Gary Sinise quite a bit and some of the in-flight stuff was ok, but lots of boring parts and eye-rolling moments in-between.

The Disappearance Of Alice Creed - 7.5/10
: A British film about a couple of guys that abduct a girl in order to collect some ransom. Only three people total in the cast, but you don't even really notice as the interactions are all pretty interesting; some fun twists and turns along the way too. A couple of odd spots that bring it down a bit, but I have to say I was pretty into it overall.

Stroszek - 8/10
: Werner Herzog's 1978 film about a an alcoholic German that gets out of prison, then ends up moving to the US with a woman. Pretty crazy film, but I kind of loved it. I think this may have the greatest ending to a film ever, it's just absurdly awesome. Certainly only a film for certain people, but it's a pretty cool film about the confused American dream.

The Goods: Live Hard. Sell Hard. - 5.5/10
: Pretty stupid comedy with Jeremy Pivin as a ringer car salesman trying to save a car lot, with very predictable jokes and results. I did laugh in a few parts (the first Will Ferrell cameo was pretty damn funny) but overall it was too stupid and predictable to be funny.

Kick Ass 9/10
Everybody has seen this one or at least knows about it by now so I won't go into it.

Clash of the Titans remake 1/10
Same. If you are going to do a remake then do a remake. Don't just steal the title and a few scenes and change everything else. If the original works why screw it up? The best part of the movie was the trailer for the original that they threw in with the other previews on the disc.

I haven't seen this ... but it sounds pretty awesome... That said, I love all of Herzog's work that I've seen up to this point, even the wierd one with the flying nuns, and the one with that guy Oskar who lived in a cave, and the Harmony Korine film where he acted as the abusive father of the guy who played "Spud" from trainspotting who was suffering from schizophrenia. Also the Bad Lieutenant New Orleans film....

Inglorious Basterds - 8/10, could have been a 10/10 if split in half, part I being the development of "the basterds, and
Shoshana's acquisition of the theater and how she created a new identity in the middle of nazi run Paris
Part II -
The Basterds plan for the theater laid out more, along with Shoshana's plan and more scenes with her trying to avoid Zoller, and accidental run in's with Landa

Inception - ?/10 - Too much going on to rate it without seeing it again. Great movie, without a doubt and
the ending was great as it allowed everyone to develop their own idea of what happened
At least a 7, probably more.

Yeah, I need to catch up with more of his work, I've only seen a handful of his films. He has an awesome style; this film is sort of gritty and realistic while at the same time being surreal and absurd. Reading the background behind it was pretty great too, Herzog is kind of a nut! :awe:

I still love this movie a lot, even though I've seen it countless times now. I was channel surfing, just to throw something on while I did some stuff on the web and this was on the HD movie channel. Two hours later I realized I had watched the whole film from my desk chair, leaning off to the side so I could see it. I was so wrapped up in it I had completely lost track of time. :D

The Road - 5/10
Pretty boring and unmemorable. The kid's horrible acting ruined the movie for me. I had to look away from the tv when he was trying to cry, just too awful.

saw this the other day....great movie, loads of fun

There Will be Blood 7/10

not at all bad, good acting, good directing, sometimes kinda interesting but when it was over i just felt like "well, ok, the movie is over, time to do something else"

id give kick-ass a 10/10, loved the movie, it was a riot, action packed, and
nicolas cage died at the end and i hate that fucker and that made the movie awesome.

Moon - 4/5 excellent scifi, i really enjoy sam rockwell, he does some really good stuff. and even in bad movies he shines. this is a good movie, and he still shines.

Let The Right One In - 4/5 i'd give it a 5/5 but it's in subtitles and i'm a jerky american. not at all what i was expecting, but very entertaining. highly recommended.

I don't know what to say about someone who doesn't think every second of Firefly is awesome. :\ Are you watching them out of order or something?

Space cowboys + Inara - Sound during space battles = WIN

Nah, the first hour was boring and I was speaking with someone who had recommended it to me and they agreed.

I'm completely hooked on it now though, it's a lot of fun. I think I have about 5 episodes left. I know the show was cancelled early, I just hope it has a proper conclusion. :hmm: I also think it had something to do with putting it on right after watching the first season of The Wire, so it was tough to adjust. I put Firefly down for a day, then started it up again and got into it.

Damn I have to see it.

Yeah, it's one of the best killings I've seen in a long time. It's awesome.

I actually had a lot of fun with the film, but a lot of people seem to hate it for whatever reason.

I got bored and didn't bother finishing it.

BTW who gives 7.5 to terminator 2. Are you kidding? That is basically symbolic of what a perfect movie is.

I assume that's sarcasm. T2 is by far the lesser film when compared to T1. I can barely watch T2, it's like a kids movie. I re-watched both last week and T1 is so much more interesting and just a better film overall.
