A-Team the movie 7/10. It wasn't a bad action adventure flick. Started out a little implausible in the begining, got normal-ish during the middle and then got inplausible at the end. Jessica Biel actually looked attractive in the movie! I would reccomend this as a rental movie.

Agreed. I kinda disliked the way the Action largely happened while Hannibal was explaining the Plan(s), just seemed rather disjointed. It's been so long since I've watched the Series, but I'm 80% sure it didn't happen like that.

Snatch - 8/10 - While my favourite film in this genre is still Lock Stock and 2 Smoking Barrels this is nevertheless a thoroughly enjoyable British heist film. Without giving anything away the film is about the heist of a huge diamond and the convoluted and comic path it takes as it changes hands between various members of the British underworld. Jason Statham is as usual pitch perfect as is, surprisingly, Brad Pit whom I don't usually really love. The rest of the cast is made up of a collection of very well cast character actors, all of whom shine. Especially noteworthy is a wonderfully sinister and kooky mob boss played by Alan Ford. The exception to this is Benicio Del Toro who plays a suave, slick, gangster / hand off man. His fake Jewish / eastern European / who the hell knows what accent is so thick and off the wall that one can't help but laugh at his character (and not in a good way). Brad Pit's accent may be just as thick but he manages to pull it off in a wonderfully goofy way while Del Toro just comes away looking stupid. Thankfully he plays a relatively small role. Speaking of accent, accent plays such a central role in this film, both as comedic relief and general backdrop that one almost feels that it becomes a character in and of itself. Like many such films in this genre it's well worth a 2nd watch just to unravel it's complex plot and character interactions.

Yeah. the presentation for some of the crazy Plans could have been done differently. It was cool when hannibal explained some of the plans, but they used it like a gimmick by over using it.

Saw the new Karate Kid. I'm suprised Dre (jaden smith) didn't get the shit beaten out of it him more often. He seemed like a typical kid.. angry and stupid. Cultural insensitivity and all that aside. he just acted like all tough and shit like he was back in his detroit ghetto. Kid needed to grow up.. and he needed to do that before he teams up with Mr. Han (jackie jan)... although, it doesn't go with out saying... a black kid can run quite fast when being chased by a bunch of angry Chinese. Also, the mom was hott-ish, but she also seemed type casted, the strong, widowed parent.. taking no shit from nobody.

It wasn't a bad update/reboot, but Dre looked like skinny and tiny. Like he needed to hit puberty or something b/c he just looked like he should still be in elementary school. The original karate kid, I was able to connect more with the the kid, in the film, it was hard to connect with Dre's character.

Hot Tub Time Machine:
I was one of those people who saw the add for this and said to myself "that looks absolutely retarded." I got around to watching it last night after hearing its good reviews and was extremely surprised at how funny it was. I watched it by myself and don't typically actually laugh out loud when I'm watching movies alone but there were a few lines in this one that got me. Easily the funniest new release I've seen in awhile. I give it a solid score.
7/10

Forgetting Sarah Marshall:
I missed this when it went around, just watched it this week and really enjoyed it. I felt it was a really well rounded romantic comedy type thing. Hit all the emotions quite well. Had some of the aspects of the R rated comedy that I really enjoyed, but also did a good job of not straying into gross out land.
7.5/10

Don't Mess With the Zohan:
After seeing a few people in this thread give it quality marks I rented it on a slow night. HA. I really enjoyed this one. Did not take itself seriously at all, the characters were for the most part enjoyable, some of the lines really cracked me up. Just a good, funny, stupid movie. Don't expect much from the other aspects and it wont disappoint. A great viewing for that night when you just want to watch something that doesn't make you think haha.
7/10

I just watched Bronson & really enjoyed it. The lead actor was very good.

Lead actor is incredible in this role but the movie just goes nowhere and is fairly boring. Without the aforementioned actor this would have been a 1/10 for me.

Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone - 8/10: This did not suck the giant donkey balls I thought it would. BUT, I am not sorry I waited so long to get started. I really dont think I missed anything epic.

Already have the others in my queue anyway, mostly to keep getting all the references you nerdy bastards keep making.

Predators - 7/10: Not bad, not bad all. I'm kind of an Adrien Brody fan and I think he does well here; pretty damn ripped too, though of course he's no Arnold. I'm so very, very glad they did this as a sequel and not as a reboot, so you got a few callbacks to the original films, plus some new developments. The action was good, the setting was perfect (felt quite similar to the first one) and the cast was decent for the most part; the girl was a little dodgy and I had no idea former UFC figher Oleg Taktarov was an actor, that made me chuckle out loud, but he was fine. Oh yeah, also good to see the guy from Justified, he's awesome. Sure, there are a bunch of silly parts, a bit of dumb dialogue, and a few things that did not make sense to me, but I enjoyed it overall. If you liked the first film, then I find it hard to imagine you will not like this one.

Huh, I've always wondered whether I should watch these. I have not read the books, so figures there was no point. Have you read the books shorty?

Who are you asking? :hmm: :D

If you liked the first film, then go see this one. I can't imagine a fan of the first disliking this.

i'm watching district 13: ultimatum. it's not bad, but the first was better. still worth renting tho if you like action flicks and can stand a REALLY BAD english dub or subtitles. i lasted 2 lines in the dub, and then changed it.

I likened the beginning of Predators to Lord of the Rings... a lot of walking and very little action :D.
