Metropolis (1927 - new restoration, with 2008 found footage) - 9.5/10: Lucky enough to catch a screening of this on its run here and wow, I'm sure glad I did. Been many years since I last saw this, but it never looked as good as this, in the original parts anyway, the footage found in Buenos Aires was in pretty rough shape, but the original, restored parts looked stunning. This film really blows me away with how impressive the sets and effects are, it must have cost a fortune to make. Sure, some of the acting is a bit much, but it does not really matter as that was how it worked at the time, I was completely sucked in again and completely forgot I was watching a silent movie (the score was fantastic, which helped). Anyway, if you have a chance to see the new restoration in the theatre, I highly recommend it. I think they update the site here with tour dates:
