Hot Tub Time Machine 7.5/10 - Went in with low expectations, came out with a smile on my face. Not as much of a farce as I thought it would be. Really a good comedy.

The Men Who Stare At Goats 5/10 - Expected Ocean's Eleven meets Inglorious Bastards, instead I got Forrest Gump meets Full Metal Jacket. Less fun and more strange than I anticipated. Had I been high, it might have made me laugh.

She's Out of My League 4/10 - Same unfunny tripe that is usually flushed out there. The leading man was uninteresting and I had no empathy for his plight. Leading lady was dull and undeveloped as a character. Except for 'Raw dogging some randoms", I don't think I chuckled the whole time.

Reconstruction - 8/10: A Danish film about love and self-worth, revolving around four main characters, with the young man Alex being the catalyst as he struggles with his current, and a developing, unknown relationship. I struggled with this film for the first ~15 minutes as it is quite obtuse and jumps around a bit, but once it got past that I was completely hooked and fascinated by the characters and the question of what is real and what is not. There is an almost dream-like, ethereal feel to the film, which is extremely effective at roping you into Alex and Aimee's (absolutely stunning woman by the way) story. Great stuff.

anyone see percy jackson and the lightning thief? pretty decent flick with some ties into some greek mathology, stupid at parts but overall i good if a 6/10. Good time waster

also watched "red baron" what a god awful movie. Boring not enough action(had my hopes up for some good dogfighting scenes) not worth the watch 1/10.

Riverworld - 2/10

A movie based on the Riverworld series of books. And by 'based on the books' I mean like a Uwe Boll-esque crapfest. The only saving graces were the actors who played Tomohoe and Mark Twain. Otherwise this was straight up horrible. A plot that went nowhere, full of holes so powerful it collapsed on itself in a Mobius Loop. Apparent plans and schemes that went nowhere and accomplished nothing, but were often mentioned. A number of pointless characters developed and killed within 5 minutes time. I can't believe I lost 4 hours of my life to this movie. At least I was horribly sick when I watched this, so I couldn't have done anything better with my time except watch something more entertaining. Like a man suffering from terminal flatulence with a trumpet stuck in his butt.

It was an interesting show, but really I would have preferred seeing it when I was 8.

Executive Koala - 3/5

It got bad at times, but its still amusing that bad asian films can be better than our worst american films.

Wall-E, twice in a week. Awe.... Pretty cute. Charged in its social commentary, something you can credit to Pixar and its location, certainly not Disney.

My daughter loves Percy Jackson, just got her the movie. I give it a 7 but she's a bit biased and would say 10.5 :awe:

I made the mistake of reading the book first. They changed SOOO much going from book to film it wasn't even funny...frustrated me all the way through the movie. =/

Rampage 1/10

A disturbing "movie" about a nut job that makes a bullet proof suite and goes on a rampage killing random people on a city street. Absolutely no point other than shock value. How this made it out with an R rating is beyond me.

Metropolis (1927 - new restoration, with 2008 found footage) - 9.5/10: Lucky enough to catch a screening of this on its run here and wow, I'm sure glad I did. Been many years since I last saw this, but it never looked as good as this, in the original parts anyway, the footage found in Buenos Aires was in pretty rough shape, but the original, restored parts looked stunning. This film really blows me away with how impressive the sets and effects are, it must have cost a fortune to make. Sure, some of the acting is a bit much, but it does not really matter as that was how it worked at the time, I was completely sucked in again and completely forgot I was watching a silent movie (the score was fantastic, which helped). Anyway, if you have a chance to see the new restoration in the theatre, I highly recommend it. I think they update the site here with tour dates: http://www.kino.com/metropolis/main.html

You know I watched that in my film class and it did nothing for me. Sure it was spectacular back in the day but...

What do you mean by this, since both companies are physically next to each other.

Really? I thought it was great, very political of course, but I still found the settings and effects to be impressive now. I was thinking of going to see it again before the run ends here. :hmm:

Everything else...

Colossus: The Forbin Project - 7/10: A 1970 film about a super computer that is built to control all of the US' defense systems. I liked this, it touches a lot of familiar (well familiar now anyway) bases in these tyopes of films when a computer/robot is given too much power and ends up taking over. This has a unique wrinkle that adds some depth to the film and makes it a little different than your average computer run amok film. Eric Braeden is awesome as Dr. Forbin and seeing him deal with his "child" is what makes the film good.

Shutter Island: 8/10 Loved it! I am not a Leonardo Dicaprio fan, but dang is he a great actor!! The movie was fantastic, and really NOT predictable at all.

Get Him to the Greek: 8/10 - Now, Im generally not a big fan of gross comedy, but I laughed and cringed hysterically at this movie. I really enjoyed it. It is the first movie I have seen that stars Russel Brand.. and I thought he was a crack up!

Cop Out: 6/10 - I am a big Bruce Willis fan.. but this movie wasnt all that great. Dont really like Tracy Morgan. The movie was ok otherwise.

Just saw Twilight the other day. That got to be one of the most boring movies that I had watched. I will give it a 5/10.
