24 Seasons 1-8 8/10-- Just spent the last 2 months watching from Season 1 through 8, I only watched Season 8 prior to this. Just excellent TV right through. There are a few niggles along the way, but most of them work themselves out satisfactorily.

Season 7, for eg, seemed to be too focused on Torture: Good vs Bad, by the time the Season finished it didn't seem near as Political on the subject as it earlier appeared it was going to get, thus sparing the audience of some kind of Political diatribe on the subject. I'm personally against Torture and 24 uses it throughout the Series, especially at CTU which seemed to resort to it like Coffee in the morning, but because it is Fictional it didn't bother me much.

What has been learned from 24:

1) Jack Bauer is always right!
2) Jack Bauer knows how far he needs to go to get Information out of you, he just needs to look deeply into your eyes for a few seconds first.
3) Jack Bauer is "so sorry".
4) Jack Bauer's Chicks Die or become Vegetables
5) You can't kill Jack Bauer, so don't even try. The more you make him whince, the more cruel your death becomes
6) Jack Bauer is your Hotline to the President, especially if you need a Pardon
7) CTU is the least secure facility on the Planet
8) CTU always has an Enemy Plant working within it
9) A 9/11 equivalent or greater attack occurs on US Soil every couple years
10) US Presidents are lucky to leave Office Alive or at least in a non-Vegetative state and even if they do Violent Death is always imminent.

Erotic Mirror - 69/10 giggity!: But you have to appreciate Misty Mundae and Seduction Cinema.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0295973/
Go to the link in the middle to find more movies made by this studio. They actually have quite a few. Also, check on the girls movie history to find all kinds of good late night viewing. MANY of them are on Netflix amazingly enough. The rest are on CD Universe. But I also bet you could find some of them through alternate means.

Just watched "Funny People" and I was disappointed in it.

Expected a lot more from the cast and while they wanted to make it more serious it shows that Adam Sandler needs to stick with playing funny.

This must have been Bad Movie Weekend for me.

The Comebacks - -9/10 - at least it was slightly better than The Brothers Solomon

Visioneers - 5.5/10: Zach Galifianakis' first film I believe, takles place in a somewhat dystopian future where a corporation sort of rules everything and people all over begin to explode for reasons that are unclear. This film is more about Zach's personal struggle with his home life and his dedication to his job. It's funny in parts, but it's only ok and I think tries a little too hard to be weird and quirky in parts.

Knight & Day - 6.5/10: I liked this. Yeah it's dumb, predictable, and has a tonne of unbelievable action scenes, but this movie reminded me that Tom Cruise can be a fun, charismatic presence on screen. I've never really cared for Diaz, but she was good here. This movie made me a bit nostalgic, reminding of movies like Romancing The Stone, which is something I had a tonne of fun with as a kid.

Black Snake Moan - 6.5/10: Weird movie, but one I liked overall. Christina Ricci, looking completely different than I ever remember seeing her, was awesome as the oversexed, strung-out trailer trash chick, trying to be redeemed by Samuel L. Jackson (always fun to watch). I thought the film had some heart and the interactions between Jackson and Ricci are by far the best parts of this. I did not really buy in to Justin Timberlak's character, but he was not enough to ruin the film. Can;t say this is one I would re-watch very often, but I liked it. Stunning Blu-ray by the way.

Cube Zero - 6/10: Kind of the prequel to Cube, which shows the guys working in the facility that manages and monitors the cube as subjects are placed in it and they attempt to make their way through. This movie is miles better than the second cube, but still a bit behind the first one, though this one does have better acting. I liked the concept they came up with for the world outside the cube and the story is actually pretty engaging. Some parts are really cheesy (one performance is way too over the top, plus the flashback scenes were ridiculously shot) but it does a pretty serviceable job as a prequel.

Gattaca - 5/10 - Terribly boring. There is no action in the movie to speak of and the acting itself is dull and lifeless. The story is interesting but centers around genetically altered people that have zero emotion and at the end of the movie that's how I felt...zero emotion. It was a 1 hour and 45 minute movie that felt much longer.

You gotta give it at least a +1 because of its name.

The Book of Eli...on Blu Ray.

I give this movie an overall score of 7.5/10 (storyline, action & acting).

I give this movie a 9/10 for both audio & video.

Zombieland: 7.5/10 - A ton of fun to watch although not a particularly great movie on it's own. Neither myself nor my wife are big zombie movie buffs but we btoh enjoyed it a good bit. Some good humor, some that didn't quite work.

Mullholand drive - WTF/10:......

Inglorious Basterds - 7/10. Not my favorite Tarentino
An American Crime - 8/10. Surprisingly good, exceeded my expectations
Gone Baby Gone - 9/10 - What a mind fuck
Shutter Island - 9/10 - What a mind fuck

If you thought those two were mind fucks, don't watch Mulholland Drive.

I do like zombie movies, and wish there were more like this and less of the normal horror type. I agree though, Zombieland was enjoyable, but you just felt like it could have been better. The celebrity cameo (don't want to spoil it for anyone) was awesome.

Edge of Darkness.

1 out of 10 stars

bad plot, bad story line, characters just pop in and you have no idea who the fuck they are or why they are there. bad sound some scenes you cant hear the dialog over the music i had to back up a scene and turn on subtitles. . goes from a "payback" and "taken" revenge type of plot that morphs into a evil corporation government that can do anything and kill the small guy plot. Very slow and boring. Plot has more holes in it than Swiss cheese. Mel should have walked away from this horrible movie.

I think even the cameo could have been better. I knew exactly how it was going to end long before it happened. The concept for the movie was fantastic, the overall result wasn't quite up to snuff.

Layer Cake - 8.5/10 - Love the genre and this film is a worthy member. Sufficiently violent for the type of movie it was, but I loved how
all the deaths weighed on XXXX's conscience. It made the deaths feel even more ruthless and helped keep them from being just wanton violence. Even though there were quite a few, they were more meaningful than in most movies
. I thought the score fit very well and enhanced the film. A couple places it was hard to follow, but no connection or motivation was left unexplained. I really recommend this one.

I agree, I was just surprised about it and thought they picked an awesome person for it.

already watched it, felt it was more WTF than mindfuck

I see what you're saying, but I'd still say Mulholland Drive was more of a mindfuck than Gone Baby Gone if just for the fact that you'll wonder why you bothered trying to understand it at all.

I liked it as well, although I tend to think I'm not really a fan of the genre, as I don't even really like Snatch or Lock, Stock... but I did like Layer Cake.

You should check out Flashbacks of a Fool, its a very different movie (completely different genre) but they somehow seem kinda similar in feel to me (and I think its more than just Daniel Craig was in both).

I can see where you are coming from, but I don't think it really needed to be an action movie. There was plenty of suspense, and the message is actually quite profound.

Heh, I've owned this movie for several months but have not gotten around to watching it yet. I'll have to move it up the priority watch list.

Oh, I'm not debating that at all, although I didn't find it to be a great movie either (seemed like it was more a vessel for the Afflecks to push a certain type of Bostonian, which I normally don't have a problem with, but those people just suck at least as they are depicted in that movie).
