uh .. the new, famously praised by everyone, Peter Jackson's LOTR? The film phenomenon of the last 20 years?
i consider myself a detractor, and even i would give it 7/10.
Wasn't really "my thing" either. At this point I can't remember anything about it other than it was very long, and the use of accents struck me as classist, but the scenery and visuals were very nice (a good advert for the New Zealand tourist board!).
I far preferred Game of Thrones, as far as that sort of genre goes. Though that seems to have a lot of haters also (so many people I know hate it for the, admittedly slightly gratuitous, sexual content in particular), I just thought it had an interesting, and fairly realistic, take on politics and political conflicts.
