Ted - 8.5/10

Perhaps my fondness for Family Guy helped: I found it pretty funny, although I wouldn't try to change to change the mind of someone who didn't feel the same way.

That last joke of the movie was one of the great lol moments I've ever experienced watching anything.

Justice League: Flashpoint Paradox - 8/10

I was recommended this movie from a friend and was a bit skeptical. I have never been a fan of DC comics and have never watched an animated comic book movie but thought "what the hell". I was very impressed by this, a very mature plot and was surprisingly violent. Also had great animation. My one complaint was the amount of cameos in the film, almost had a mortal kombat 2 approach. Anyways it is highly recommended.

God Bless America - 6/10

It had a good premise but it fell into a political drab towards the middle of it, I would have preferred it stuck to the original idea. The plot was also hit and miss but the end of the film did sort of come back together. It has an overall very good message. Not bad for something that was not on my radar at all.

Drinking Buddies - 10/10

Every once and a while, a film comes along that i completely love. I don't even care to be a critic because it just resonates with me entirely.

Disclaimer: Olivia Wilde (and Anna Kendrick too) are like catnip to me, so this movie was bound to catch my attention regardless.

This movie, unlike most, felt real to me.
The characters felt real, and the story played out like it does in real life, so many times.

This movie will most definitely not be for everyone, but it's easily the best thing i've seen in a long time.

Actually just watched this last night. Nothing too great, not too bad. The subject matter here is what was interesting, and yes, it played out like it usually does. Don't really consider this a chick flick/date movie because the subject matter would be enough to make some men squirm. Good enough time waster. - 7/10

Upstream Color (2013), 9.5/10: Was very confusing for the first 15 minutes or so. And there isn't a typical plot spoon fed to you. It is a plot that you have to figure out on your own, which was very refreshing. I am still trying to absorb some of it as it's a very cerebral movie. Not a ton of dialogue either.

But, it's a very good movie. It's a movie that brought about a lot of emotion and feeling from it. I'll probably need to watch it again to grasp most of it. It is a movie by the same guy who did Primer, which was another movie I'm a fan of. Both of these movies do not give you the plot up front, nor do they give you a story arc from the start like many movies. You don't know where the plot is going until you get there. I don't want to give away spoilers so instead I'll link to Slate's commentary that explains a lot: http://www.slate.com/blogs/browbeat..._and_the_meaning_of_shane_carruth_s_film.html

Amazing film. Definitely in my top 3 for the year so far.

Deathstalker 4/10
This came out in 1983 and is basically a low budget ripoff of the Conan movies only with better acting lol. If it wasn't for the horrible editing it would have been a bit better. Plenty of boobies. Netflix streaming
...

That ones on my list. Can't wait to see it. Suddenly discovered Roger Corman via Netflix so I have been going down the dark road of really bad sci-fi/fantasy movies. The last week I have seen the following cinematic masterpieces...

Journey to the 7th Planet 1962
Barbarian Queen (1985 xena warrior princess w/sex and worse acting)
Starcrash (1978 really bad star wars ripoff)
Galaxy of Terror (1981 actually not that bad IMO)
Leviathan (1989 again not that bad)
Forbidden World (1982 aliens ripoff, actually physically painful to watch)

all of these are netflix streaming.

Gay N!ggers From Outer Space

wtf/10

Terribad production and performance. 27 minutes long, so it's probably worth watching for the sheer spectacle of it.

Edit:
Whadda ya know. Youtube has it! Now you can all partake of the glory :^D

Zero Dark Thirty 5.5/10

I think I was just expecting too much out of this.

Special Forces (Forces Speciales) [2011] 8.5/10
French movie with english subtitles about special forces sent to extract a journalist from terrorists.
Similar feel to zero dark thirty/hurt locker, but not as over the top/big budget feeling. There are some ridiculous combat scenes though. Lots of beautiful mountain scenes.

available on netflix instant stream in HD

Luther (Season 3): Eps 1-3 7.5/10, Ep 4 10/10
This show is so much better when
Alice Morgan
is in it. Otherwise, its just OK. The last episode is by far the best;
they should have started the season with her
. At least its set up so that if they do another season it will be interesting.

Damages (TV): 8.5/10
Overall this series was pretty good, with little fall off from season to season. Kinda interesting seeing all the actors they cast going against type. First 4 seasons are free on Amazon Prime, but not the last one.

The Cabin in the Woods: 8/10
I thought this was gonna be a generic slasher movie, which it kinda is, but the reasoning for it was pretty novel. Not a fan of the ending, but all in all I was pleasantly surprised. Free on Amazon Prime.

Expendables 2: 5/10
This movie sucked ass. All it probably needed more Van Damme, but he is probably on screen for 10 min, and he's the main villain. Instead they squeezed in Bruce Willis, Arnold, and Chuck Norris, and it just seemed so forced. What a waste. Free on Amazon Prime.

Yup, she is just fantastic.
Makes the show absolutely insane as you know things are going to get even crazier than ever with her around.

Cloud Atlas - 6/10. Interesting story...but what a mind f*ck flipping all over the place between timelines. The most enjoyable part about the movie - showcasing all the characters each actor portrayed in the movie.. :)

Elysium: (3/10)...predictable from the first 10 minutes or so. The entire movie. Crap ass love relationship between Matt Damon, woman, and her daughter. The movie is also indeed an obvious socialist political statement designed to coincide with the immigration debates in Congress. Rich people are evil. Yeah, we got it.

Honestly you gave it about 4 more than it deserved in my opinion, and was van damme wearing some Rocky Horror Picture Show eyeliner or what?

Horrible, absolutely horrible movie.

I didn't think it was bad. It wasn't that original plot-wise, but it was fun to watch. Although, that's mostly near the end. It was a bit dry near the beginning, and I do think the script could've used some tweaking to make it stronger.

I'm debating whether or not to see this for that reason (it's obviously a liberal's wet dream of a movie) but I might anyway since I haven't gone to the movies in a long time, and I love sci-fi.
