List some interesting X11 window managers

I've recently gotten bored of the main desktop environments for Linux/UNIX. Are there any other windows managers that are current and interesting?

Currently, I've tried:
enlightenment
fluxbox
pekwm

What others are there to try?

What kind of thing are you looking for? I recall that someone around here (Drag maybe? Or BBWF a long time ago?) was a fan of Ratpoison, which is rather... nonstandard.

You can find a site devoted to window managers here.

edit: fixed second link... was pointing to RP site for some reason

I was looking for those minimalistic windows managers.

I don't know, I don't really use any machines old enough to necessitate using anything truly minimalist. Openbox/Fluxbox is about as low as I care to go. Good old FVWM2 can be quite lightweight and even look pretty good if you spend some time configuring it. There are several that bill themselves as "minimalist" listed on the "Others" page of xwinman.org. Have you tried XFCE? It's more than just a Window Manager, but it's still remarkably light for the functionality it provides.

Yea, I have but the thing I didn't like about it was that I could not move the taskbar or configure it in any way.

If GNOME's panel does what you need, you might consider running it without running nautilus. That cuts a decent amount of resources out. Maybe it's even possible to run the panel without running gnome-session?

I found xfce4 was easily configured for most stuff. It's my MW of choice on older machines. You can have it running and a firefox window or two open without hitting swap on a 256 mb rig. I always get a rig up to 256 when doing old linux boxes for web only folks.
