i want you to tell me what movies i should see, tell me what they are about too. here are my picks:
-Pulp Fiction: this movie is a short story about the cool headed Vincent and his theologian partner Jules and their story of an incident with trying to get a briefcase, beat the clock in a clean-up job and get money from a boxer who was supposed to take a dive
-Scarface: a Cuban immigrant comes to Miami planning to make it big and this story is about his rise to power and the fall of his empire in the drug business
-American Beauty: story about a shattered family, the girl being constantly watched by the weird kid (living next door) who sees her as very beautiful wheras others do not, the father wanting to score with his daughter's friend, the wife cheating on her husband and the neighbor's father worrying that his son is turning gay because he spends time with the father who gets along well with the homosexual neighbor on the other side of the house and appears to be gay in several scenes
-The Big Lebowski: the poor Lebowski's rug is urinated upon by thugs trying to collect money from the rich Lebowski's wife, the rich lebowski's wife goes missing and he thinks that the kidnapper may be the same person who urinated on the poor Lebowski's rug, it goes back and forth as to who the bad guy is sort of like an episode of Scooby Doo with a surprise ending to it.
-Star Wars series (start with 4 then 5,6 then finaly 1): story about the battle over control of the galexy between the rebels and the empire which is controlled by the emperor and his apprentis Darth Vader. the the story goes into a flashback type story in that parts 1,2 and 3 are released after 4,5 and 6. you know how it ends but the story of how it started in the first place is what is so fascinating. after seeing the 4,5,6 parts you understand how the force works, who and what the empire is and in part 1 you see how the empire got started in the first place - through a treaty signed with the emperor who's aprentis Darth Maul was to kill the jedi knights so that there would be no resistance to the taking over of the entire galaxy.
