Ones I can think of (remember, they don't necessarily have to be games RELEASED in the 486 era, but games that can play on a 486) would be Simcity 2000, Warcraft I, II, SimTower, Doom, Duke Nukem, can't think of anything else atm.

Monkey Island 1 and 2
Loom
Doom 1 and 2
Wolf 3D
Spear of Destiny
Blake Stone
Heretic
Hexen (maybe?)
Oregon Trail
Command and Conquer
C&C: Red Alert
Warcraft 2
Starcraft (though it'll be slow)
Phantasmagoria
Gabriel Knight 2: The Beast Within
The 7th Guest
Myst
Jazz Jackrabbit
Duke Nukem 1 and 2
All of the Commander Keens
Alien Carnage
Raptor: Call of the Shadows
Monster Bash, and pretty much every other Apogee game.
Several Sierra Games.

There are just so many good games from that era I can't remember all of them.

edit: actually there are a lot of games which say they require at least a pentium but will play on a 486. I was stuck with a 486 until 1999, so trust me I know. :( Basically what required more speed was ingame videos. usually they played too slowly. however if you skip them the game is otherwise playable.

it wasnt random, it was after you got to 2000m

Awesome, I totally forgot about that game, I remember when that game first came with our Pentium 200 from 1996... There were so many games on that pentium 200 but unfortunately I don't have that system and I'm not sure how I would have gone about obtaining those games again... :(

Yeah and if you ran over the dog, the dog would wet it's self...
