I have reduced that to only 4 along with the do not update Registry entry.

My Win 7 updates are current as of April batch. No problems noted.

I guess that it's been 6 months or more since I turned off LiveUpdate. It is too much work trying to figure out whether any or what malicious code Microsoft has been stuffed into their important or critical updates. There are too many KB files to track that will eventually find their way back, after you delete them. Been there, done that.

My sibling was talking to a client, when Windows 7 decided to upgrade to Windows 10. He never consented to this. Now he has driver issues, such as not being able to use his printer. Microsoft is costing the business money.

Just stay the course and miss out on those good updates.

Bipolar disorder is a Psychiatric state that devastates its sufferers.
.
It is characterized by alternating between periods of very Good feelings (Mania) and deep Depression (sadness).

It seems that similar technology condition in Action on this forum.

Many here are constantly busy Extreme critic and suspicion of Windows while it is combined with a Bizarre needs and use of frequent Updates.

While Win10 is not yet in its final state and Updates might include New needed features.

Win 7 is in the last stage of support the Updates are almost all security related.

Part of Security updates (and or others) relating to issues of Corporate Internet (WLAN and LAN) security, in many cases it is not even relevant to Home users.

If One is Not in a habit of visiting and Interacting with the "dark part" of the Internet, and he/she is using good protection with the understanding of how Security work, then very frequent is Not really needed.

Personally I keep the Update Off, and mange my security every few weeks through here.

Just install Never10 if you don't want Windows 10. Simple as that. Then you can turn on automatic updates and stop fretting about updates obsessively and get back to using your computer. Unless your computer use revolves around installing updates and tweaking a machine and nothing else.
