I receive that message when I try to connect to the 'entire contents' under network.
I checked what services are running and nothing that should be running is stopped or disabled as far as I can see. I checked it twice.
I rebooted and no luck.
This is 2k pro using a router with a DSL connection (internet access is ok) nothing fancy (no firewalls, etc.). I get the error from either computer, BUT from the 2nd box, shortcuts to drives on the first machine that were made some time back ARE visable!

I also tried M$'s site, but as usual couldn't find anything there with their lame search engine.

Master browser problem? I would check if the browser service is turned on for at least one machine.

Also might want to fire up ethereal and see if you can see elections and browser announcments.

Please remember, friends don't let friends network with "Network Neighborhood". Use UNC paths (\\servername\sharename) and TCP IP utilities, depending on what you are doing.
