List of (Lion) TimeMachine compatible NAS units

Does such a thing exist yet? Getting information on this is like getting blood from a stone.

I'm interested in stand alone NAS units and FreeNAS like linux distros, or even proven working hacks as so far those I have tried have come to nothing.

If you really want a Time Machine-compatible NAS, you might consider building a Hackintosh. You'd have a lot more flexibility as far as cases and drive expansion goes, too.

I have a Synology DS210j that is working with Lion (You have to run a BETA firmware to get it working!)

The latest FreeNAS 8.0.1 nightlies should have netatalk 2.2 merged which should provide a working AFP 3.3 setup for TimeMachine in Lion.

The roadmap states they're shooting for an 8.0.1 release next week so fingers crossed that Time Machine works!

Interesting, but it looks like the Wife will get a nice Corp. discount on a 3Tb TimeCapsule...
