The 2012 Camaro ZL1 is supposed to use the same engine as the CTS-V and be priced around $47k.
The issue isn't "How much horsepower does the car have", it's "How much horsepower can be transferred to the wheels, can the car stay on the ground around corners, and how fast can you slow down before hitting a curve."
That's a concept American performance car makers seem to have a problem grasping.
Ah that's practically a tie in both hp and price. What's the next stepping point in terms of power then?
And it will have even more power.
I think the OP is interested in competitors to the CTSV in terms of power. There really aren't any. The only other sedans I can think of with more power is the Panamera and the new M5, both of which are north of $100k.
Speaking of CTS-V's, just last week I saw one merging so slowly you'd have thought he was running on 3cylinders. What the hell are people thinking when they buy a 550hp car if they're just gonna drive it like a 100hp Civic? Actually no, I take that back, because I was going faster than they were in my lowly Civic.

Maybe 30 years ago when the gears in your brain stopped functioning.
Have you seen Camaro and Corvette lap times on the Nurburgring Nordshlieffe?
Compare them to the similarly priced classes of Porsche, BMW, and Astin Martins, and you'll see they fall far behind.
Well, I take that back, the Corvette Z06 is a solid performer on the track, but is terrible to drive on the road. The Camaro and the Mustang both handle like bricks.
I guess my point is that most of the world puts great suspension and brakes on their cars after a certain price point. US cars don't do that unless you get an option.

Guys, this is faster than a 200 thousand dollar Audi r8 v10 and 3 seconds slower than a 250,000 dollar Ferrari 458 italia. This is 50k, eat shit foreign cars
