I'm trying to find an USB MP3 player that: (ideally)
1. has more than 128MB storage
2. Works as USB Removable Storage Drive (no need for drivers in Win2K/XP)
3. Backlit LCD that displays filenames (or ID3 Tags)
4. Voice Recorder
5. FM Receiver/Recorder/Transmitter

Best of the Best:
Apacer BP300 128MB- $65

Aigo DSY MP3 player 256MB - $154
-Voice/FM/Phone recording
-MMC/SD slot
-full FM support

Aigo F008 256MB - $135
-looks sweet
-voice recording

Daisy Diva Gem 128MB - $159
-SD/MMC now up to 512MB
-voice recording
-FM record

MobiBlu 256MB- $169
-voice recording
-FM record/trasmit
-12Hrs on 1 AAA

Muro MR100 256MB - $155

I've been searching for the same thing, minus the FM. I don't really care about that. But an MP3 player with a recorder, a screen, and a pen drive is not easy to find. Most of them have a USB cable, which makes it worthless to me. I'm not going to use it if I have to carry a cable everywhere I go.

Buslink has one that's everything but the FM radio, in 128 and 256 MB models.

I don't know about this particular site, but it's at least a list of choices: http://www.audioexchange.com/mp3player1.html

yeah, fm radio's not that big of a deal.

The DigitBall looks nice, it has a "Show Next Songs On LCD " feature that I can't tell if the Buslink ones have. I couldn't find anywhere that sold one yet though.

pagecomputer.com has a Buslink MP3 player but no picture... for $86 shipped

Well, obviously iRiver has become the number one in flash and cd based mp3 players, but it's also quite expensive...

One more thing - if you go with iriver you can be sure of quality sound output, this is not always so with other basic "thumb drive with mp3 playback" type of devices.

The cable for the ifp3xx series is standard, so you can replace it with a shorter one or even a very short one.

Oh and I forgot:
(with latest firmware)
- supports USB storage drive (no extra software needed)

And with future update (already announced):
- it will support OggVorbis format (may or may not be important to you)

i have the older iriver 180T, but i think its basically the same thing. it doubles as a usb storage drive, good sound, and EQ. can't really go wrong.

they have good warranty, my sister broke mine via water damage and was replaced within 2 weeks.

Hmmm that I- River would have been perfect at 99$ after rebates. I would have been all over that.

However the next best looks like the apacer. Wish that I- River was still on sale.

that one is pretty nice except for the fact that you'll have to carry a cable with you to transfer stuff

Wow. I didn't know there were so many choices. I was also looking for one, but I decided to wait a couple of months because mp3 players are a hot item for this xmas. I can wait, since I don't really need it :)
