List of 1080p games for 360

Got my Elite and wanted to compile a list of 1080p games for the 360.

The only one I know about is Virtua Tennis 3.

Any others?

Your Elite will upconvert all your games to 1080p via HDMI. I don't think there are any 1080p 360 OR PS3 games out. Last I checked, they were all 720p that can be upconverted to 1080p...but that was awhile back ago.

There are a few 1080p games. Rayman Raving Rabids is the first one that comes to mind since I saw the box yesterday. I think Splinter Cell was 1080p too.

PS3 has them, but they're mostly PSN games.

Virtua Tennis and NBA street homecourt are the only ones that I know about that were developed in 1080p.

I played VT and it's a real fun game. Graphics are sweet!

I don't think that 1080p is a very high priority for many developers at this point in time. Only a very small number of people have 1080p sets at this point in time.

Is there a big enough visual difference from 720P to 1080P? I use the HD-VGA cables and connect to my 2007FPW display which can only go up to 720P and I think it looks great. Previous to the HD-VGA cables I was using S-Video and the dif was night and day.

You won't notice the difference until you get up above 42-47" screens (assuming normal viewing distance).

I'm curious where the devs are cutting corners in order to get their games to run at 1080p. 1080p requires more than double the memory bandwidth as 720p, and that doesnt come free.

I'm guessing at the very least, they shut off FSAA. And I'm not sure whether or not I'd take 720p w/ AA or 1080p w/o AA...although I'd lean more towards 720p in that case.

even now id say theres a decent few 360 games that have little to no AA on them (or AF for that matter) and theyre only 720p games too. i dont believe the 360 will be capable of doing 1080p fluidly unless its not a very demanding game.

yeah i kinda doubt there will be many 1080p games. after all, consider what that actually is - 1920x1080 with AA. How many PCs can do that? the 360 only has what is basically an x1900 in it, which couldn't handle very many games at that resolution in a PC. the purpose of 1080p on the PS3 and Xbox 360 is to watch movies.

i've seen a couple games for PS3 with 1080p all bold and showing on the jewel case.

For a 56 inch, 1080p is important!!! i hope they continue releasing and developing 1080p in the future. Technology goes no where but up, why wouldn't they. ?

Because the PS3's GPU has even less memory bandwidth than the 360's.

For them to achieve 1080p they have to cut out AA at the bare minimum, rendering the two pretty much equal as far as your eye is concerned in the end, or they have to lower the quality of the game assets in order to get acceptable performance, and that kind of degradation would carry down into 720p and 480p resolutions, which probably 99% of people are using.

I dont see how it would be worth sacrificing such things in order to put a bullet point on the box. Surely, some engineering wizards could code a game that looks AND runs great in 1080p, but no matter how well they get it to run in 1080p, it could always look better if they never even considered it in the first place. I guess you wouldnt know what youre missing though, but the load that 1080p puts on a system compared to 720p, even 720p+4xAA, is HUGE, and consoles are no exception to that rule.

Im picking up a 1080p set very soon (but no PS3 yet), but even still, I'd rather they just didnt try. And the fact that a good deal of PS3 games arent even doing 1080p speaks for itself.

When they come out with the PS4 and X720 or whatever the hell they call it, then 1080p all the way. Its just pointless right now.

By that time 1080p sets might actually have some significant market share.
