I always like a thread like this every now and then. Lets see what you paid and what you are running at

Soyo Dragon case w/ keyboard 30$
Microsoft Optical mouse 30$
plextor px-504a 4x dvdrw 70$
lite-on 52x cdrom 20$
Barton Athlon XP 2800+@12.5 x200=2.425ghz 50$ (100$ for the cpu and a kt600 that i sold for 50$ :))
Sapphire Radeon 9800 pro@ 400mhz core clock/ 350mhz memory clock 210$@newegg
standard floppy 10$
DFI NF2 Ultra Infinity 100$
Audigy 2 zs 30$ (Was 30$ off w/ motherboard purchase and a 50$ MIR I bought the DFI then)
3x 2700 333mhz 512MB DDR Kingston valueram@I cant remember 195$
ATA 133 card 30$
21 inch flat screen Sun Sony Trinitron monitor 150$ (purchased from work from a corporate buyout)
Maxtor 160gb 95$
Seagate 120gb 75$
Western Digital 20gb 30$ (for my main OS to keep it speedy)
Antec True Blue PSU 90$
Windows XP 80$ (from fs/ft forum)
standing fan 10$ (a poor mans cooling system..that works very well actually)

So all in all with OS and Monitor this stuff cost 1305$. Not too bad for a top of the line system. I am happy with all my purchases and couldn't be happier with the performance of it all. I guess you linux guys got a one up on us though ;). Post what you got!

I guess I am alone in these threads :*(
My guess is that even many of the geekiest geeks here do have lives and other, better things to do on a Friday night than hang around the computer forums. Not me. I am at work. Also, I think you will probably live if you have to wait a little more than 2 hours for a reply.

I personally don't care about these threads. Nor do I even begin to remember what I paid for most of my parts. Mostly I get good deals, and that is that.

Wow, do you really not like me or something? I am new here and I thought it would be fun to try to fit into the community...sorry man. I have my sisters college graduation and have to get up at 6am and figured it would be cool to have a nice system thread. Once again, sorry.

I have no life, and I'm at work. But I don't remember costs well. I'll try though, just for the hell of it. ;)

And lMlHuxley, just ignore the comments. Most of the time they read differently than they were typed (intended). So it's probably not worth getting into. ;)

Soyo K7-VME $Free
Athlon XP Mobile 2400 (running at stock speeds) $70
512MB Mushkin DDR3200 $89
40GB Maxtor $Bought it a LONG time ago, probably when 60s were the big drives.
20GB WD $Bought this one shortly after the 40 :p
eVGA nVidia GeForce 4 MX 440 lite $42
Antec Sonata $105
Lite-On DVD burner $119
Dell 17" CRT $Free
