Well, it started with the British hating the French, which makes sense historically. And they did it with class. But then the colonies decided "HAY ME 2!!!' and started hating them, even though HISTORICALLY France has done a lot for the US...and the US does it with a lot less class. I mean, "Freedom fries"? WTF? Seems like it would belong on a WW2 propaganda poster.

I do have to admit that the French SUCK as travellers. They go to another country, then get together with other French people and speak French as they eat French food in a French restaurant, all the time talking about how it's better in France, but much more expensive...when they're on a boat or train or whatever, they glance out the window with a bored disinterest, doing their best to pretend they're still in France.

Well of course TURKS don't have GREEKS...Turkey has all the stuff Greece has at a much, much lower cost. The Ataturk fetish seemed a bit over the top, though.

We have a house in Bodrum (near Kos islands) and we travel daily to the Greek islands, then our Greek friends come in to our town, etc. Have so many Greek friends...
