Too bad you Canadians don't spend as much time worrying about your own country as you do obsessing on the US. By what possible means do you infer racism out of a thread where the OP asks what country you don't like. I have to assume that your hatred of the US makes you a racist by your definition.

Got a kick about a border story here in washington state. When someone with a gun is reported heading towards the border from either side. The Canadians (border guards) walk off the job, because the Govt won't let them carry a gun.
Happened twice in the last month here..left to US border guards to stop them.

ohh but that aside I still pick the French, for some reason I still like Canadians.

LMAO

I voted for Kerry, but I really wanted to vote for Nader. I only voted for Kerry because I wanted Bush to lose so badly.

ah the drawbacks of the Single Member Plurality System

If we had runoff voting, it'd be nicer. I posted a myspace blog about this one time. I came up with a system of ranking instead of pure voting. First, all the "first choice" candidates would be tallied, and a common election would be run. If no one candidate gets a simple majority, then each candidate will be removed one candidate at a time (starting with the lowest scoring) until one candidate does get a simple majority. (If a voter's first choice is a removed candidate, the second choice will be counted as the first, and so on.) It's an automatic runoff without the need for another election (because they've already expressed their second and third choices). It would allow third-party people the chance to win an election because nobody would be afraid of wasting their vote. It would also allow someone to effectively vote against someone by putting them on the bottom of their choices.

Yep, I agree. Here's the Wiki article on STV - a system I am a staunch proponent of for democratic reform.

I also hate Iran, anti semetic b*st*rds devoloping nuclear weapons.

You are from B.C. and, therefore, you are not relevant.

Want a stupid sport? How about the one with a ball that you're not allowed to touch with your hands. Talk about boring. Soccer =

Of course, soccer is the most popular sport in the world:roll:

Switzerland is not in the EU, for starters :p But I already typed several pages about the far right and racism in P&N today so I'll just say that in my opinion the EU and Switzerland are not more racist than the US.

I don't know a country that I especially like or dislike... After all many will select one because they don't like the current government or the national cuisine, it's not that easy to get the mentality and culture of different countries in my opinion. This thread is entertaining for the usual reasons, though ;)
