As per one of the many hot deals we have going on, I managed to snag a free "Ingenuity" liquid pencil from Papermate. While I'm not a pencil reviewer(thank goodness
) it does seem interesting none the less. The "lead" is liquid graphite, so it works more like an erasable pen than a pencil, but the lead does indeed look just like real pencil lead. Supposedly, these things have the right softness to pass as #2 HB pencils(the testing standard), but I haven't had a chance to dig up a scanning machine to test it. The lines it draws are a little thick(.7mm vs. .5), and the eraser downright bites(it is replacable, however), but it's an interesting concept. Maybe the mechanical pencil will be replaced by the liquid one some day? Anyone else get theirs and try it out?
