Liquid Crystal Television!

wow.. I didn't realize this technology was already in use! 😎 Wonder when it'll be used in computer monitors..

What technology?

Its a 640x480 flat panel! Thats not cool, thats a joke.

Hell, I have a 15 inch 1024x768 flat panel, and I bet the 15 inch tv costs 3 times the price, and its not even hdtv.

Better yet, I checked the price on the 20 incher, and thats $2,999!

I could probably buy a 21 inch LCD, an entire kickass PC, throw in an HDTV tuner, and probably afford digital cable service for a year or two for that price. The picture would be far better, and you'd have a PC to boot.

Its a shame some idiot out there is going to buy one.

I dont understand wtf is wrong with HDTVs. Why are they so damn expensive? I can buy a 21inch monitor with a resolution far surpassing the best HDTV can put out for about $500. Yet I havent seen a single HDTV, tube projection or whatever under 1500. The reciever can't cost more than $200, and thats probably far overestimated.

What's so special about this? I can do that same stuff on my 18.1" Planar LCD + ATI TV Wonder VE & get TIVO features to boot.

why it's so special?
because it's called Liquid Crystal TV instead of LCD TV.
🙂

why it's so expensive?
because we cannot watch tv on computer mon without tv-tuner, this one is a tv, some can watch tv immediately without computer knowledge.
😎

Just wondering, where is a good place to buy a LCD monitors. I went to pricewatch and the lowest price for a 21" LCD is over $2500

The Dell 20.1" UXGA LCD has S-Video and Composite inputs too, so you can simply attach it to a VCR and use it as a TV (VCR's have TV Tuners).

Mine's unbelievable. Bright and even screen, not one dead or even stuck pixel. Lucky perhaps. 🙂

What a funny coincidence...I just got back from Japan and when I was wandering around the Kansai Airport before my endless flight back I came across a big display of those Sharp TVs.

I must admit my jaw dropped...the images were stellar and the housing itself was quite stylish. Until I saw the price tag (yikes!) I was entertaining getting one for the kitchen counter or my desk at home (there's a good way to get your work done 😉

Sharp is one of the largest manufacturers of LCD screens, I still think the screen on my 2 1/2 year old Sharp laptop is one of the best out there.

Maybe in my next lifetime.....
