Liquid Cooling Recommendations...

Well, as it says, I guess... I got a 9800Pro that does some pretty pathetic OC the way it is (20MHz on either side) and I'd like to upgrade from the factory HSF to a liquid kit... Is there any way to do liquid on just the vid card? Otherwise, I'm runnin a AMD 64 on a Asus K8V in a Chieftec Dragon, any suggestions on full kits and where to find em? I know it's a lot to answer, so thanks in advance!

Just because one only gets a 20MHZ OC on air, it doesn't mean that card doesn't have potential to go higher with a watercooling setup. Case in point is my case. With air, my 9800Pro would only go to 411MHZ before showing artifacts during games. After adding a waterblock to the core, I went from a small 30MHZ OC to a 60MHZ OC.

However, I'm not running the card at a 60MHZ OC cuz I'm sharing the water with the CPU block as well.

Adding a waterblock will definitely add more OC'ing potential to your GPU.

Keep in mind, however, that if your room is hot or has no windows, WC won't help--afterall, the water can only get as cold as the temp of your room. I rectify this problem by turning on the AC in my room during the hottest parts of the day.

yes they help a lot...

if you're going to get a gpu coole, you might as well pay a little extra for a cpu cooler...

Does anyone feel like recommending some parts? I think I'm actually gonna get a x800 in a week or so here, but I can see myself wanting to keep the temps down on that as well...

Check out this topic that I started. Here. Look at the bottom of the first page. You'll see the parts I listed in the water cooling system I'm going to start ordering/building very soon. The only thing I haven't picked out that is a major component is the pump.

Looks like some decent stuff... I'm gonna either have to read more on liquid cooling (as I'm terribly unfamiliar with it) or just find someone who wants to put together a list of newegg stuff for me, heh, not likely... but this is a good place to start!

Anyone else have a package they saw for sale somewhere that'd work great?

Thanks again!
